Activist, #ShaunKing, recently shared a now viral picture which shows children being held in cages. After doing some research, he found that the picture was taken at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, and was shocked by what he learned.
“I saw this photo floating around and didn’t know if it was real. It is,” he tweeted. “Children of immigrants are being held in cages, like dogs, at ICE detention centers, sleeping on the floor. It’s an abomination.”

The picture Shaun shared shows two young female detainees sleeping in a holding cell. All of the children are separated by age, group and gender. Media fought for access into the detention center, and Customs and Border Patrol finally provided media tours on Wednesday of two of their locations in Brownsville, Texas, and Nogales.
Over 47,000 children who entered the United States illegally have been processed since October 1st 2015.
