Tonight at the Oscars…both Jennifer Hudson and Rita Ora rocked the house with powerful vocal performances. Watch them inside…
Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson hit the stage at the 87th Annual Academy Awards Sunday night during the show’s “In Memoriam” segment. Jennifer told the crowd of A-listers, “This is for all the people who shared their talents and their lives with us.” After her intro, Jen launched into a stirring performance of “I Can’t Let Go” from the TV musical “Smash.”
The tribute included actress/activist Ruby Dee, poet Maya Angelou and filmmaker William Greaves. Oddly, comedian Joan Rivers was left out of the tribute. Fans on social media are outraged!
Here’s another amazing performance…
Singer and actress Rita Ora (wearing Marchesa) appeared on the program singing “Grateful” from the film Beyond the Lights, which stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Nate Parker (see our interview with the “BTL” director here).
The heart-warming ballad was written by Diane Warren and produced by The Arcade. It’s worth pointing out that in addition to singing songs on soundtracks, Rita has moved in front of the camera as well. She recently made her acting debut in the hit film 50 Shades Of Grey.
