I don’t think it’s a personal attack on Zendaya Coleman, at least I hope not. She’s just a young actress trying to make a name for herself. I mean people have been creating petitions throwing out names and faces of who they think would be a better person for the role and I know that has to hurt. But, now Aaliyah’s family is taking action.
Aaliyah’s family is taking legal action to stop production of the Lifetime biopic, slated to star Zendaya Coleman in its lead role. Aaliyah’s uncle and former manager, Barry Hankerson reveals to TMZ that her family is not happy that no one from the network contacted them about the biopic.
In fact, they are so angry they will take action to prevent Lifetime from using any of Aaliyah’s music and has hired a lawyer to block the release of the film. Hankerson claims Aaliyah’s family are open to the idea of a big, theatrical film, but feels that a TV movie is too small for the talented singer. Ouch!
