Xscape will be the next super-group who will be getting their own biopic after they recently announced their reunion.
According to Deadline, the group will be teaming up with Mona Scott-Young, who will executive produce via her Monami Entertainment Company.
With all of their success, the group was able to release successful albums and have hit singles such as “Just Kickin’ It,” “My Little Secret,” “Understanding,” and many others.
They are currently shopping the project around to the networks, as well as exploring the idea of a project that will give an inside look at the group during their reunion.
Recently, TV One announced they would be doing their own biopic on the 90’s group, however, the original members made it clear that they have nothing to do with that film calling it “disrespectful and disappointing.”
In a statement, they said, “We are excited to join forces with Mona Scott-Young and Monami Entertainment to bring the real Xscape story to the world. This partnership will allow us to tell our story about our lives the way we lived it. It’s our truth about the rise, the fall, and the return of Xscape. We feel the recent announcement of an unauthorized biopic on our lives is disrespectful and disappointing. We are not, in any way, participating in that project and it will never ‘represent’ our true story.”
Mona Scott-Young has also expressed her excitement for the project as well.
Roommates, will you be tuned in?
