The young scholar’s proud mother Claretta Kimp shared with NBC 5 Dallas/Fort Worth that Huey-You’s interest in math began at the age of three.

“He asked me if he could learn calculus and I thought, ‘hmmm, OK,’ ” Kimp explained. Kimp soon learned that her toddler’s comprehension of math was comparable to that of an eighth grader. Hence, the gifted child graduated from high school at the age of 10 and began matriculating at Texas Christian University at the age of 11.

“The first day of class, I was very nervous about what I was walking into, going from a small private school and then to this big campus,” Huey-You said in a video posted to TCU’s Instagram page. “After the first day of class and once I sort of got used to the overall TCU feel, I was very comfortable. TCU is where I’ve grown up. I feel very comfortable here. And it’s home.”

There’s no doubt that Huey-You will make himself at home in any and every mathematical endeavor he pursues. Congratulations to him and his family!
