According to Box Office Mojo and number of other sources, “Jumping The Broom” did some very impressive numbers this weekend. The film, which was released on May 6, had a production budget of $6.6 million and over the weekend is estimated to have rang in $13,700,000. Directed by Salim Akil, and produced by Tracey Edmonds, Elizabeth Hunter, T.D. Jakes, Glendon Palmer and Curtis Wallace, the film is a romantic comedy about two families who live on opposite sides of the social circle and have to get together for a marriage. Starring Laz Alonso, Paula Patton, Tasha Smith, Loretta Devine and Megan Good, the film came in at number 3, behind “Thor”($66 million this weekend) and “Fast Five” ($32 million).
